Surface Mobility was awarded the Operation Contract for the Road and Transport Authority’s (RTA) Enterprise Command and Control Center (EC3), and provides both consultation services and daily operational support through Operational Specialists, Supervisors and Operators that manage the center and assist the RTA in navigating the path towards Expo 2020 and beyond.

The EC3 is a newly-built, state of the art facility that connects and integrates the data from the RTA Operational Control Centers (OCCs). The EC3 displays a holistic view of all modes of Transport in Dubai from a centralized location that is capable of making decisions in real time to benefit the users of the multimodal network in real time. EC3 was envisioned, designed and constructed with eight primary functions in mind:

  2. Event Planning and Management
  3. Crisis Management Center
  4. Public Information Management
  5. Data Acquisition and Strategic Reporting
  6. Security Operations Center
  7. OCC Support and Monitoring

Moped sharing schemes refer to rental services where mopeds are located at various locations throughout a city, or part of a city. They are typically rented by the minute, hour or distance and can be easily checked-in and -out either from a fixed station ‘docks’ or from ‘floating locations’.
